BIOS- Basic Input Output System [ A way to recover your old PC ] Tweet
You can go to the home site of your motherboard manufacturer to get latest BIOS program. But since we usually upgrade our computer once in a while the built in BIOS can handle our operation. This system is particularly useful in reviving old computers.
The most common reasons is highlighted here:
1. Support for newer processors - The BIOS allows the motherboard to accept processors up to a certain speed. Since you got the computer, the top speed of the processor type your computer accepts has increased. You decide to replace your processor with a faster one, but the BIOS does not recognize it or does not have the right settings. Upgrading the BIOS can resolve this problem.
2. Support for bigger hard drives - The BIOS allows the motherboard to accept hard drives up to a certain size. Since you got the computer, the maximum size for hard drives has increased. You decide to install a newer and bigger hard drive, but the BIOS does not recognize it or only recognizes part of the drive. Upgrading the BIOS can resolve this problem.
Information on the process of updating will be added on demand. [Dont want any of you screwing your computer with just basic information ]
Portable hard disk.....Is it really that usefull???? Tweet
We all know that two great invention gave us the most useful item of all.... Portable Hard disk
which are those 2??? USB 2.0 and SSD
But is it really worth paying thousands for those meager GBs... is there a way where u can get double the GB for the same price....
We all think our computer is a fragile machine and touching the internal wires may conk it off... but if taken care of there are much better ways of getting your jobs done without sabotaging your computer...
How much is a Western Digital My passport 1 TB portable hard disk?? Don't sweat it...its 7500... and how much is 1 TB internal seagate barracuda HDD.....3750
So what's it all the hush about external???
For all you PC users....[ and that means PC...not laptop] have you ever been stuck on those special days where u got a 100 GB worth file to copy [definitely serials] and not much time in your hands.... That is the biggest failure of USB...
to put it in simple terms u got a huge tank full of water and u gotta transfer some to another tank.... but then the pipe connecting is really thin.... takes a whole lot of time right??
Exactly the same... a USB 2.0 has a bus width of 10 Mb/s... but with ssd tech it goes at a speed of 30mb/s... big deal but what's the speed of a usual SATA HDD??
3GB/s
And once we know how simple these connections are ...however big the file [tested 100 GB]...no more than 10 mins... that's right folks... just 10 mins....
all you gotta do is rig up the power connector and sata cable to your motherboard....which is damn simple...and restart your computer... it automatically detects the motherboard and all you have to do rest is just drag-and-drop
So pl reconsider your wasteful expenditure buying flashy externals where you can get more GB for less Money....
"BANG FOR THE BUCK....that's all it's about"
Welcome to Tech-geek blog Tweet
